What Do You Think??

Let me know what you think of Amber's Bridals. It was so hot outside and with all that dress that she had on, I'm sure she was close to dying. I think they turned out BEAUTIFUL though!

The last Couple Weeks

(I wish I could some up with really cool or fun titles for my blog posts, but it's just not my cup of tea, I'm not any good at it... Sorry)

A couple Saturday's ago, CJ competed in a Tree Jamboree. For those of you who don't know, CJ is a Tree Trimmer. The company he works for is contracted with Rocky Mountain Power to clear the lines from any brush or tree. He really likes his job and has worked there for 6 years. Anyway, a Tree Jamboree is a competition for the tree trimmers that is held each year, and this year it was held in American Fork. They setup courses and they get timed and scored on performance (the winner gets $2000 towards a trip to Australia, to compete in the world competition. Don't hold your breath... CJ did not win)

This was CJ's first year ever competing and he had lots of fun. He scored 21st place out of 32 (not bad for a new guy I guess) and in one event he got 3rd!
I was not able to stay and watch all the events, we've got a child, end of story. But here are some pictures I was able to snap.

We went camping for Memorial Day and we went with CJ's siblings. It was a lot of fun! Except the last day when we got 3" on snow fall, then heavy rains.... oh and then we got stuck.
We planned on coming home Memorial Day but when we woke up Sunday morning and saw the snow we thought we could eat breakfast, break down camp, and head out while the ground was still frozen (who the hell's idea was that!!!). Well, by the time we got all that done, the snow had melted a ton and it was drizzling rain. we headed down the road and maybe 100 yards from camp we got stuck! A camp that we near by came and told us that they were in the middle of helping some other people get un-stuck and that when he was done, he'd help us. He also told us that even when/if he can get us out we wouldn't be able to go anywhere. Four other cars were stuck on the road that connected us to the main road off the mountain. We set the trailer back up and planned to spend the night.

This was taken after we got stuck, so most of the snow had melted by this time, but here's the idea.

This was not mud, it was clay. You could hardly walk anywhere without getting your shoe sucked off. Oh it was bad news!

So here is what happened next. We unhooked from the trailer and these nice guys hooked on to the truck.

We got out like butter.... I want one of these Raptor machines, bad!!
Next, we tied onto the tongue of the trailer to move it 45 degree's so we could hook the truck back on.

Then we hooked back on and the nice guys pulled us out. NICE! CJ had a really nice big rope that is probably worth $100 of more and the guys wanted to buy it from CJ because they liked it so much but we decided to give it to them for being to kind!!! Thanks again, where ever you are!

You can't really see the depth in these pictures but these ruts were HUGE! And you can see our tire tracks where we had slid right into the muddy mess.

Now, I saved this for last because I wanted to reward those of you who actually read this whole post. Do you guys want the ingredients for the worlds BEST s'more??? I can't hear you..... DO YOU? ok ok I'm just kidding, but, you gotta try this sometime this Summer!
This is what you need; A marshmallow, 2 fudge stripe Keebler cookies and a milk chocolate caramel filled Giradelli chocolate square (i know, right.... enough said)

I've never been, but I'm pretty sure this is a little piece of heaven!

The Ripe Old Age Of 3

Drake has been amazing CJ and I with all his talking. I tell all of our close family about all his funny little stories and they are adamant that I need to be writing this stuff done.
Here's a couple funny/cute (well, I find them funny) stories.

CJ's dad had a little black dog named Max, and one day Drake was over at his Aunt Shaylee's house playing with a little girl named Cami. Well, Cami doesn't articulate her words quite as well as Drake does and so Drake was getting rather frustrated with Cami when she would call the dog "Ma" and not "Max". Well, a couple weeks later Drake and I were walking to the car when Drake informed me "Grandpa's dog is black"
Me: "oh, is he?"
Drake: "Ya, he's black, and his name is Max"
Me: "Cool, did you go play with Max the other day?"
Drake: "ya, and Cami, but she says Ma, not Max"
Me: "oh she does?"
Drake: "Ya, but it's not Ma, it's MAX"

It's not a hilarious story, but it goes to show what a big boss he thinks he is!! Little stinker!

Drake is getting to the point where he will start having memories of things and the last thing I need him to remember is his mom naked, so I don't change or go to the bathroom in front of him anymore. Well he's all potty trained (things went smooth, YAY!) and we call "it" his "wee wee". Well about 2 months ago, right after the potty training ended I went into the bathroom to go number one. Well I didn't shut the door all the way and so Drake came bee boppin' in "What you doin' mama?" He said
Me: "Drake, I'm going to the bathroom. Please go out and shut the door."
Drake: "Oh, are you just peeing out of your wee wee?"
Me: "No, Drake I'm not peeing out of my wee wee. I don't even have a wee wee. Shut the door."
I then went out and tried to explain to Drake that girls don't have wee wee's and that only boys have those, his response; "Oh, so girls just poop?"

Honestly, how do you respond to that!? I know of an ER nurse that taught her children the real and direct names for their body parts and they got Child Services called on them. When her kids were at day care they were talking about their Penis and Vagina and the day care lady thought that they might be being abused or something because what 4 and 5 year would know that much about the body??? CRAZY!

My son is the spitting image of my husband. It scares me! Ha! I put in the movie Bambie for Drake while I hopped in the shower one day. When I got out Drake was sitting on the couch watching Bambie, THROUGH HIS BINOCULARS!!! And when I asked him what he was doing he shhh'd me and told me that the deer were fighting. Oh, ok then.

My dad is hunter, ahugethatisallheeverwantstodo hunter. The other day Drake and I were up at my parents while CJ was off on some OT work. Well, my dad was expecting a couple guys to come over and pick up a gun that he had been working on for them. The guys showed up and my dad and them stepped into the front room. Drake slipped out of my grasp and wanted to check out what Grandpa was doing so he ran into the front room. I yelled for Drake to come back to me but he had already struck up a conversation. My dad told the guys that Drake knew more North America and African animals than any other 3 year (which is probably right) and that Drake is my dads re-loading budding (re-loading of ammunition, for those of you that don't know). Well Drake went in there and was talking about butterflies and how butterflies are not scary and so on and so forth. Meanwhile my mom and I were dying of laughter that Drake was talking about butterflies in front of these hunter guys. Then one of them asked Drake what his favorite animal was. Drake said "UMMMMMM" (he thought forever) Finally my dad interrupted the silence by saying to Drake "He asked you a question, be nice and tell him what your favorite animal is". I was crossing my fingers that Drake would make his grandpa proud by announcing any other animal besides butterfly or something along those lines. Finally Drake blurted out " A Caribou" ("YAY!" I thought, and I'm sure my dad did as well) They all started laughing and the guys who asked the question said "That's impressive. I didn't even know what a Caribou was until I was 12!"

The most recent funny story was just the other day. CJ's Birthday was May 13th and that night we were going to a dinner with my family and my little sister's soon to be in-law's family. She was getting married the very next day and wanted us all to meet and mingle before the big day. I asked Whit (my little sister and the bride-to-be) if it would be ok to bring cake and ice cream to the dinner for a fun little SURPRISE for CJ. She agreed that it would be fun. Well, Drake and I went to the store to pick up candles and Drake started to whine that he wanted a birthday and that he wanted candles. I explained to him that he just got a birthday and that these candles were for daddy. On the way home I called CJ and put the phone on speaker for Drake to talk to him and wish him a happy birthday.
Drake: "Happy Birthday Daddy I love you"
CJ "Thanks buddy I love you too! What you doin'?"
Drake: "I'm with mama, I got your candles!!!!"

Help Me Out Here

I need a business name and I'm not sure if I want to get creative or just stick with my name. What do you think?

Here are some of my thoughts.

-I don't want to use my last name (Nuccitelli) because no one can pronounce it correctly and to be honest, I tend to shy away from things and places that I cannot pronounce. (Example: I don't know why Salon owners insist on naming their business some weird, Indian rooted, no one can tell me where it originated from, word. It's a pet peeve of mine lol)

-I just keep coming back to Madalyn's Photography. It sounds boring to me but that's all I got.

-What do you think of my initials? (Example: MZN Photography or MN Photography) The only reason I don't like that is the fact that no one will know if I'm male or female, and that might matter to some clients.

-CJ thinks I should call it Mama Noochies Photography. "Um, hell no honey, and thanks for nothing" is what I keep saying to him.

All idea's are welcome, and greatly appreciated (except if you choose to side with CJ, then I don't want to hear about it, lol). THANKS!

Our Hectic Life

WARNING: This has the potential to be a very long post.

The last couple weeks have been busy at our house, very busy.

We took Drake out about 3 weeks ago to get some picture taken of him because he was turning 3! And the next weekend we went out for a little fishing.

He was scared that a train was ACTUALLY going to run him over. That kid watches too many Tom and Jerry cartoons.

Check out that smile! Drake was the only one who caught a fish and it was on an ice fishing pole, lol. For those of you who don't know, ice fishing poles are way short because when you ice fish you just drop the bait in the ice hole, there is no need to cast out. Anyway, It's a small fishing pole so Drake insists that it is his fishing pole just because it is smaller. (We got him his own fishing pole for his birthday)

CJ and I are really good parents and forgot Drake's coat. It got so cold as soon as the sun went down so Drake had CJ's sweatshirt on and thought it was pretty cool to be wearing daddy's stuff. Don't mind Drake's Cheetos smile and orange fingers.

My Grandma passed away a couple weeks ago, her funeral was beautiful, and it was so fun to see family that I had not seen in YEARS! Great day for a great lady. Well, She passed on a late Tuesday night and so her viewing was scheduled for that Sunday evening, with a funeral on Monday.

Saturday April 2nd, was my little sister Whitney's bridal shower.

It was a lot of fun and she got lots of great stuff, thanks family!

CJ and I took Drake to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point, the night before his Birthday, for part of his Birthday present and he LOVED IT!

After the museum we dropped Drake off with my mom. CJ and I went out for some sushi with Brody and Jen and Rusty and Jess. We ate, picked up Drake and got home in just enough time to give Drake a hair cut before bed and his big day.

Drake's 3rd birthday was Sunday April 3rd, the same day as my Grandma's viewing and we had planned on cake and ice cream with family around 5:00 p.m. but needed to re-schedule for the viewing. We changed the time to 12:30 p.m. cake, ice cream and pulled pork sandwiches. I had to work from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. that morning and of coarse when I woke up to leave for work we had a 3 foot snow drift in front of our door. I should have known then what kind of a day it was going to be!!!! Sunday had brought a huge storm our way and the winds were howling! I shut the front door and just stood inside, kind of pouting to myself, then I heard Drake in his bedroom coughing. I thought nothing of it but wanted to make sure he was ok before I left for work (it was 2:00 a.m.). I walked over to his door to take a listen and as soon as I leaned into the door I could smell throw up. I opened the door and Drake was sitting up in his bed silently crying to him self, tears on his cheeks and throw up in his hair, in his ear, down his pj's and all over his pillow and stuffed animals, poor kid! I called for CJ's help and together we got Drake up and started the HAZMAT cleaning. We changed his bum because he had some diarrhea (sorry if this is too much for you to handle). He said he needed to go potty and while sitting on the toilet pooping, he just started CRYING, so I told CJ to get a bowl or something because I knew that meant his belly didn't feel good and he was going to throw up, sure enough, he did, while pooping on the toilet. I lost it. I was crying and Drake was crying and CJ was trying to hold us together (LOL, I laugh now but it was not funny then) Meanwhile, the winds were howling and the lights were flickering on and off and, in our place, if the power goes out, that means I can't get my car out of the garage in order to get to work. I know some of you are thinking "What the heck, it's your kid's b-day, he's sick at 2:00 a.m. and there is a storm, why don't you just call in sick!!!?" Please trust me when I tell you that I wanted to soo bad!!! But, I couldn't do it. My job, and the four main IHC hospital's in SLC county, cannot function without someone that does my job, I couldn't leave them hanging like that. So, we got him cleaned up and he kept begging to go back to bed, so we sent him to bed and I left for work. A couple hours later Drake went into our room and told CJ that he needed to throw up, but he had already done so. CJ got that cleaned up and this time CJ thought it might be better to let him sleep in bed with him, bad idea, he threw up in our bed a half hour later. CJ got that cleaned up and went out to the couch to watch movies and be veggies the rest of the morning. Drake could not hold anything down, not water, not sprite, not pop sickles, not food and not Gatorade. He was not running a temperature yet so I thought that he might have food poisoning ???? Anyway we called all our family and let them know that they could stop by if they'd like to but they did not need to because Drake wouldn't be very much fun. It was true, he was not much fun. I got home from work and tended to my little guy, wished him a happy birthday and couldn't even get a response from him, he was spent! Family came over and he held it together for about a half hour but while I was helping him open one of his gifts he threw up all over me and the carpet. It was back to the couch he went. We didn't put candles on his cake because we were going to serve it and I didn't want him to breath all over the cake.

We tried to sing happy birthday but he didn't like it and chose to lay on the couch and cover his head, he watched us cut the cake and asked for his dinosaurs that were on top of the cake and as soon as he got those in his hands he went to sleep. This is how he spent the rest of his 3rd Birthday.

Notice the dinosaur in his hand :)

He was sick like that and continued to throw up until that Thursday. O my gosh it was a bad week! He had a bad temperature and we quickly realized it was not food poisoning but rather the stomach flu.

My brother and his wife Traci had their third baby. Henry Kyle Zimmerman was born Wednesday April 6th and we still have not been over to see him because of Drake's flu and busy schedules. Sad.

CJ filled his Turkey tag, HURRAY! I'm very happy for him and we'll be enjoying his harvest this afternoon.

Wow, I can't believe I got through all of that, I hope I didn't overwhelm you :)
