Birthday Bash

My Birthday was on Sunday (21st) but we didn't do a whole lot because that's exactly the way I wanted it to be! We went to Texas Roadhouse Saturday night for dinner. CJ made me decide where we were going to eat and I really didn't care but I was craving some loaded mashed potatoes. CJ bought me the New Moon DVD (along with a few other items)! YAY! He was also nice enough to watch it with me on Sunday while Drake took his nap. I had a great weekend, it was very relaxing/lazy and it felt so good.

I love this picture! Drake worships the ground CJ walks on and it melts my heart to see how much love they have for each other.
P.S. Drake is now sleeping in a BIG BOY BED! WOW! The last week or so has been kind of a headache because of it but we've managed to struggle through it and we came out on top. Drake was climbing/falling/jumping out of his crib. It was bad news. One night CJ and I laid him down for bed (the night after he had a sleepover at Grandma Angie's and climbed out of his pack n play so he slept with Angie in her bed) and Drake was screaming bloody murder! I knew he was not hurt so CJ and I tried to go about our business but I eventually started crying too because it's just so dang sad to hear him cry like that. CJ begged me not to go get Drake out because then all the crying Drake did would just start over. But, I got him out anyway and just held him for a while, got him in the bath and brushed his teeth, again. CJ was right, it didn't help a thing! Drake went right back to crying. This go around he was even worse because Drake was crying out "hold you momma! Hold you momma!" Then towards the end of the crying Drake was almost yelling at us saying "ME FALL!" (I think back and laugh about it now but it was so sad) CJ and I turned to each other and said "Do you really think he's gonna fall?". It's almost like Drake was threatening us by trying to say "If you guys don't come save me I'm gonna JUMP!". And what do ya know... he jumped... next thing we know his little hands were rattling the door handle. It was awful. I told CJ that I was NOT going to let Drake get in the habit of sleeping in bed with us so CJ went and got his tools and we converted his bed right then and there. We laid Drake down in his new bed and he didn't even cry. He wined for a couple minutes and went right to sleep in his bed. We think back now and it's almost like he was letting us know it was time to retire the crib. Crazy kid!
