Tis the Season.

So It's officially HUNTING SEASON! Something that is cherished in our home. Actually, before I got married I used to think that men only hunted during the Fall, which is hunting season, then I met CJ and he changed my belief. There is no such thing as a hunting season around our house, why you ask? Because it's ALWAYS hunting season! Deer hunt, bear hunt, getting ready to bait the bear for the bear hunt, elk tag, sighting in the gun and bow, dove hunt, duck hunting season, ice fishing, fishing, chuckers hunts, pheasant hunts. Hummmmm, am I missing another one? That's right, we also have the annual Coyote derby, oh and all the STUPID hunting shows that we just have to watch. (Really long side not: Have you ever watched one of these shows? The guys whisper even after they've made the shot, now I get why they do that because once upon a time I used to be able to go hunting. But CJ will be watching one of these shows and he'll whisper in the freaking living room of our home while he watches it. It is pretty funny, but it gets old. I've called him while I was at work to just say hi to Drake and CJ will whisper on the flippin phone. He's weird I know!) Also, don't forget the cost of all this. I'm the one left at home budgeting all this out. I used to go hunting with CJ but now I'm the one at home caring for our little guy. It bugs me when CJ asks "Why don't you ever come hunting with me anymore?" I really wish I could go more often with him, but Drake needs my attention right now. However this year I drew a general deer tag so I'll be going hunting while CJ stays home with Drake. MUAH HA HA HA HA! This will be great for him to get a taste of his own medicine. CJ's mom, Angie, thinks I'm nuts for putting up with his crazy ways lol. My sisters think I'm crazy too. I should probably put my foot down when he asks to go do whatever it is that he does, but honestly, I'm happy that he has a healthy hobby. I don't care if he goes as long as he takes care of me while he's home. And he does, some days could be better but no one is perfect. He does laundry and dishes and takes the trash out. Sometimes I even get a meal out of him (he's a great cook). He also changes diapers and tucks our little guy in bed every night with me and helps Drake say his prayers too. I'll be looking forward to the day when Drake is big enough that CJ will take him hunting. Maybe when we have our next child I can have a Little girl so that someone in this house will get excited about scrapbooking with me!

So Far This Summer

We've been having a lot of fun this Summer! We went to the Tim McGraw and Lady A. concert.
Lady A.

CJ, Cory and Tyson

CJ, me, Ryan, Whitney, Tillie and Chase

This is how packed the Usana was. I've never seen it this busy, not even for the King George Strait himself!

Me, one of my best friends Shawnie and a new friend Amber.

This is a bad picture but my camera was acting up in the dark so this is as good as I can make Tim McGraw look. Although he still looked great in that low light!

About 2 week after that concert, we went to the Toby Keith and Trace Atkins concert. I was not as excited to see Toby as I was Trace, however Toby did such a great job and put on a really good show! We had lots of fun!

The next day was Sunday and Jess and Rusty asked CJ and I if we wanted to go on a 4-wheeler ride up A.F. Canyon. We agreed, obviously. My parents own a cabin up A.F. Canyon so we parked there to unload the wheelers and to see Drake. He spent the night before up there with my mom while we went to the concert. Well, as I was walking up to the cabin, my mom walks out and says "Now, I don't want you to freak out when you see Drake." So I immediately start to freak out and she says "Oh Madalyn" in a worried ton. I was thinking that he had lost a limb or something. So I was relieved to see that he just got one of these
This looks A TON better than it did that first day that he got it. A TON BETTER. It was huge and bright red, then the next day it was black and purple. Poor kid. My mom said she was in the kitchen cooking breakfast and Drake was right by her side putting on her big fuzzy slippers, next thing she knew, Drake was tipping over, face first and didn't even put his hands out to stop himself, she said he landed right on his forehead. That will be the last time she babysits, NO! I'm kidding! I'm glad I have family who loves to hang out with him, even if he comes back a little bumped and bruised. Anyway, we rode to forest Lake. I had never been there and CJ said that it had been years since he was there. It was a fun and quiet little spot way up the mountain.

What can't you live with out?

So, if you were lost in the wilderness or stranded on an island and were all alone, what are two things that you can't live without? I don't want the obvious, like water, food or a blanket or something. I want to know if you really would go insane without your hairspray or a mirror or something along those lines.

Mine, you ask? Well, I say it all the time that I CAN NOT live with out Chapstick, not lip gloss, I need chapstick! So that's my number one pick. Second, I'd have to say a radio. Not to keep in contact with the outside world but to listen to music. I relate everything in life to a country song in some way or another haha! So I need music to keep me alive in the wilderness and to stay happy.
Now it's your turn.
